Directions to St James Apartments

The apartment is c.80km/50miles from Faro airport and travel time should take about 50mins-1hour.

  1. Follow the A22 (sometimes called IP1) from Faro airport to Lagos. Follow this motorway to Portimao/Lagos.
  2. Take Junction 1 off the A22 signed Lagos (west). Don’t take the exit for Lagos (East).
  3. Follow the road to Lagos until you get to the 2nd roundabout.
  4. Turn right for Luz (left is for Lagos)
  5. Turn left at the next set of lights.
  6. Follow this road to Luz (now look at this map of Luz– top right shows traffic lights you’ve just turned at):

  7. As you approach Luz on the ‘old road’ take a right turn when there is a no entry sign ahead.
  8. Go up the hill and turn immediate left (Mirage pub ahead of you).
  9. Go straight until you get to a cross-roads.
  10. Straight over onto a rough road and you will come to a large pink block, this is St James' Apartments.

 

Driving in Portugal

If you are driving in Portugal, there are a few things to remember. The Portugese drive on the right-hand side of the road and road names and numbers are often not used in the countryside, though the locals will be more than happy to help put you on the right track if you get lost, so don't hesitate to ask.

Blue signs are used for villages or towns, green signs are usually used for highways and brown signs are used for other places of interest. The speed limit on the highway is 120km.
